Google opens self-managed VMware service across 22 cloud regions

Google opens self-managed VMware service across 22 cloud regions Image: Primary
Google announced general availability of a self-managed VMware service in 22 Google Cloud regions, giving customers administrative control over VMware Cloud Foundation on dedicated bare-metal servers. Customers can retain their maintenance schedules and third-party management tools while moving VMware workloads to Google Cloud. The service supports portable Broadcom subscriptions and lets customers apply Google Cloud commitments and Flexible Committed Use Discounts to Z3 servers. Each node provides 96 physical cores, 1.5 TB of RAM and 72 TB of all-flash NVMe storage. It complements Google Cloud VMware Engine, the existing Google-managed option; customers choosing the new service take responsibility for managing their virtualization stack.
