Temu remediation plan requires scrutiny of illegal-goods risks

Temu must conduct an interim risk assessment within four months under a plan to remedy its Digital Services Act breach, the European Commission says. The assessment will cover a six-month period ending 30 November 2026. The plan requires platform-specific risk analysis and reliable measures of whether safeguards reduce illegal content. Temu will examine content moderation, whether recommendations amplify illegal goods, and seller manipulation of platform features. The measures follow a May 2026 non-compliance decision that found failures in Temu's risk assessment obligations and imposed a €200 million fine.
