OpenAI patches ChatGPT desktop after user backlash over its recent redesign Image: Primary
OpenAI has rolled out a batch of fixes to the ChatGPT desktop app based on user feedback after the recent redesign merged Chat Work and Codex into one unified app roughly a week ago. OpenAI said the changes are a direct response to user feedback after the redesigned app missed the mark. The update returns conversation history and Projects to the desktop sidebar enables Chat and Work history syncing across web desktop and mobile apps adds a dedicated switch for moving between Chat and Work mode and includes a major search upgrade alongside teen safety features and parental controls. Local Tasks remain stored only on the computer and are not synchronized across devices. These fixes are now live across every ChatGPT plan including free accounts and users can access them by updating the desktop app.
