Gemini update simplifies 'Thinking level' picker and Android notification settings

Google announced an update to its Gemini app that simplifies the "Thinking level" picker and adds granular notification controls for Android users. The company said the picker has been reduced to a single option, removing dropdown menus. The update also allows Android users to adjust notification settings for specific categories including Daily brief, scheduled actions, responses, and product updates and tips. The changes apply to both the Android app and the web version. Separately, Google said Gemini Spark on Android received an interface refresh. The update adds top tabs labeled All, Scheduled, Needs input, In progress, and Completed to organize tasks. A search icon replaces the previous menu button to help users locate tasks more quickly.
