Stellantis warns Fiat component shortage could disrupt production through December

Stellantis warns Fiat component shortage could disrupt production through December Image: Primary
Stellantis said Monday that an electronic-component shortage disrupting Fiat production in Italy could continue through December, The Next Web reported, citing Reuters. The missing part goes into the computer that manages a car's engine. The shortage has affected several models and October sales, with the Pandina hardest hit. Further stoppages could affect the Pomigliano plant near Naples, Mirafiori in Turin and the Termoli engine plant in November and December. Mirafiori has separately been closed for three weeks because of another component shortage; unions said weak Fiat 500 demand also contributed. Stellantis has not identified the supplier or linked the latest shortage to the Nexperia dispute.
