Vapat project seeks approval for 160MW Valladolid data center
Image: DCD Spanish wind-power group Vapat is entering the data-center market through a proposed campus in Torrelobatón, Valladolid, with up to 160MW of IT capacity.
The DC Mudarra initiative calls for two buildings containing eight 10MW IT rooms each and would sit near Vapat's San Lorenzo wind farms and the La Mudarra electrical substation. The project is undergoing environmental impact assessment and cannot proceed to construction until that process is completed.
Estimated investment is €1.6 billion to €2 billion, though Vapat has not announced a final figure.
