Nucelion to manufacture VeGen Bio's clinical-stage cell therapy in India

Nucelion to manufacture VeGen Bio's clinical-stage cell therapy in India Image: Primary
Nucelion Therapeutics and VeGen Bio announced a collaboration to transfer and manufacture VL-2511, VeGen's Phase II cell therapy candidate for multiple myeloma, in India. Nucelion, a Bharat Biotech subsidiary, will provide technology transfer and clinical- and commercial-stage manufacturing at its single-site facility. VL-2511 uses a patient's own modified immune cells to target BCMA and CD19 simultaneously, aiming to address cancer cells escaping recognition by losing a target. The partnership covers process development and manufacturing scale-up rather than marketing or distribution. The companies aim to improve yields and reduce manufacturing costs.
