Preprint links restricted AI access to increased vulnerability disclosures

A preprint studying Project Glasswing finds that firms given early access to Claude Mythos Preview more than doubled vulnerability disclosures relative to Chinese and Russian tech firms without access. The model helps find software vulnerabilities; participating firms disclosed about 150 percent more high-impact flaws while maintaining their previous speed of fixing reported flaws. External researchers reported about half as many vulnerabilities in participating firms' code and shifted toward other firms without leaving the market. The share of disclosed vulnerabilities exploited within a month fell by about two thirds, mainly because fewer were already exploited at disclosure. The number exploited did not change.
