President Donald Trump signed a national space transportation policy calling for more spaceports and capacity to support more than 1,000 launches and reentries a year by 2030. The memorandum replaces a 2013 policy and directs the Pentagon and NASA to prioritize and coordinate infrastructure investments at federal launch and reentry ranges. It also calls for regular publication of range schedules to improve allocation of launch resources. The policy cites commercial and military demand as drivers of the projected activity.
