Cloudflare launches Billable Usage API for programmatic cost visibility

Cloudflare said it is launching a Billable Usage API for self-serve accounts that returns account usage and cost broken down by product and service period in a single call. The company said the endpoint covers usage-based products including Workers, R2, D1, Workers AI, Vectorize, Images, and Stream, and that usage and cost data are updated daily while it works toward more real-time data. Cloudflare said most response fields map to columns in the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS), though it is not yet claiming full conformance. The company also said it partnered with infrastructure cost platform Vantage on a native integration that pulls Billable Usage data daily via a read-only Billing Read API token for reports, budgets, and alerts alongside other providers. Cloudflare framed the API as a response to agent-driven automation that deploys Workers and provisions storage, saying finance teams and developers previously relied on screenshots or manual exports. The company said the first release is self-serve only, with an enterprise equivalent in the works, and pointed customers to API docs and the Vantage console.
