DeepSeek reportedly nears funding of at least 80 billion yuan Image: Primary
DeepSeek is close to raising at least 80 billion yuan in a new funding round, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, with Tencent and CATL committing some of the largest sums. The AI lab initially sought about 50 billion yuan; demand increased after its latest model launch, and the total could approach 100 billion yuan. The proposed round would exceed DeepSeek's first outside financing earlier this year, which raised about 50 billion yuan at a valuation of $52bn to $59bn. DeepSeek has not announced the new round.
