EchoStar co-founder Charlie Ergen has reportedly agreed to acquire a controlling stake in mobile virtual network operator MobileX through his CONX special-purpose acquisition company, in a deal estimated at $200 million. DCD, citing the Wall Street Journal, reports that Verizon would receive a minority stake by converting a loan into equity if the transaction is approved. MobileX sells 5G plans over Verizon's network through dealers and Walmart stores.
