Sui test records 40,614,180 transactions per second through off-chain channels

Sui posts 40.6 million TPS, aiming for off-chain speed at AI-agent payments Image: Primary
Sui processed 40,614,180 transactions per second in an October 7 stress test in Singapore, Cryptopolitan reported, surpassing its July record of 6,086,766. CertiK verified the run in real time, with a fuller review of proofs and execution logs expected in the coming days. The transactions flowed through more than 10,000 programmable off-chain channels rather than directly through Sui's blockchain. These channels settle their opening and closing states on the mainnet and can handle payments, messaging and games. The test does not establish lower real-world payment costs, faster settlement or commercial adoption.
