Datadog reports scan freshness above 99% after replacing remote host scanners

Datadog reports scan freshness above 99% after replacing remote host scanners Image: Primary
Datadog says its host vulnerability scanning now maintains scan freshness above 99% after a migration over the past year to its existing Datadog Agent. The measure tracks in-scope hosts scanned within the previous 24 hours. Its previous remote scanner needed more than 18 hours to assess the fleet, but its SSH credentials expired after 12 hours. The Agent sends installed package inventories through its existing data path so Cloud Security can identify known vulnerabilities. After a six-month parallel evaluation, Datadog retired dedicated scanners and remote credentials. The freshness measure covers hosts enrolled in the workflow; a separate API identifies hosts missing the Agent or configured incorrectly.
