Microsoft releases mandatory Windows 11 security updates and expands recovery management

Microsoft releases mandatory Windows 11 security updates and expands recovery management Image: Primary
Microsoft has released mandatory Windows 11 cumulative updates containing October 2026 security patches for hundreds of vulnerabilities, BleepingComputer reports. The updates cover versions 26H2, 25H2, 24H2 and 23H2 and are available through Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog. The release adds a remote management plug-in for Windows Recovery that extends management capabilities for mobile device management providers. It also removes direct PC-to-PC migration, directing users to Windows Backup when moving to a new computer. Microsoft warns that some PCs may still experience problems with USB 1.0 audio devices after updating.
