European authorities arrested seven suspects and seized more than 100 servers in an operation targeting a company suspected of supplying fraudulent trading websites to criminal gangs. Europol and Eurojust supported the action, which involved authorities from Albania, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Kosovo and North Macedonia. Investigators linked call-center operators to potential victims in at least 50 countries. The suspected scheme used deceptive advertisements, fake trading accounts and fictitious profits to induce larger transfers, then obstructed withdrawals. Europol said evidence pointed to a company allegedly operating the service from Cyprus and Israel.
