Apollo confirms cloud breach exposed personal data
Image: Primary Apollo Global Management confirmed in a California filing that attackers used social engineering to access its cloud environment between July 6 and July 10 and took names, birth dates, contact details, home addresses and Social Security numbers. The filing does not identify whose information was taken. The disclosure follows warnings of an extortion campaign aimed at private-equity and financial firms; Apollo did not answer questions about whether it paid a ransom.
