Sernova Biotherapeutics and Seraxis Holdings have closed USD 11.2 million in financing to support their proposed merger into BetaNova Biotherapeutics and clinical testing of SR-02, a pancreatic islet cell therapy for type 1 diabetes. The financing exceeded a USD 10 million target. Proceeds are expected to support manufacturing, patient enrollment beginning in Q4 2026 and first dosing in a Phase I/II study in Q1 2027 under an FDA-cleared investigational new drug application. Initial clinical data are expected in H1 2027.
