Reclinker raises £10m to expand recycled cement production

Reclinker raises £10m to expand recycled cement production Image: Primary
Reclinker has raised £10m in Series A funding to move from trials to full commercial cement production in Cardiff. Clean Growth Fund and AP Ventures co-led the round, which will also support expansion to electric arc furnace sites in Europe and the US. The process recovers cement paste from demolition waste and feeds it into furnaces that recycle scrap steel, producing clinker alongside recycled steel without a cement kiln. Reclinker has made thousands of tonnes at 7 Steel UK's Cardiff plant and secured its first commercial sales. The company says its cement halves emissions at the same cost as conventional cement; TNW has not independently verified those figures.
