Collibra buys trail ML to add automated AI compliance controls

Collibra buys trail ML to add automated AI compliance controls Image: Primary
Collibra has acquired Munich startup trail ML, adding technology that assesses AI compliance and blocks agent actions that violate policy. The acquisition price was not disclosed. Collibra says trail ML's agents identify which rules apply to an AI system and test whether its controls work. The technology covers the EU AI Act, ISO 42001 and the American NIST risk framework, rerunning assessments whenever the underlying evidence changes. Its runtime layer blocks prohibited actions before an agent carries them out. Collibra says it has more than 700 customers, including 78 of the Fortune 500.
