Germany warns lawmakers their iPhones may have been targeted by spyware

Germany warns lawmakers their iPhones may have been targeted by spyware Image: Primary
Germany's federal cybersecurity office, the BSI, has warned that members of parliament and other prominent individuals received Apple alerts about possible cyberattacks, TechCrunch reported. The office said recipients should assume their devices may have been compromised. Apple's latest threat notifications reached users in 99 countries, according to a notice received by Beirut-based filmmaker Radwan Mortada. Such alerts flag suspected spyware targeting but do not establish that a phone was compromised or identify the responsible government. The German government has not identified which federal officials were targeted.
