Apple introduces co-developed locks, cameras and thermostats for Apple Home

Apple-Home-Collection-lineup Image: Primary
Apple announced a collection of smart home devices co-developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, giving Apple Home its first accessories developed with Apple's direct involvement. The products include cameras, a video doorbell, a door lock and thermostats, The Verge reported. The accessories work through the Apple Home app without third-party apps or accounts. Apple says users can pair them by tapping an iPhone against them using Bluetooth and NFC. The $349 LG lock supports hands-free unlocking and will be available in the US and Canada starting in December. Both $199 thermostats arrive in those markets in December. The cameras and doorbell have no announced release date.
