Discord plans web search access to public server messages

Discord plans web search access to public server messages Image: Primary
Discord announced that some public-channel messages in Discoverable Servers will begin appearing on server web pages and in web search in mid-December 2026. Controls for administrators and users start rolling out today, ahead of server web pages launching on November 16, 2026. Public channels participate by default, but administrators can exclude individual channels or all channels. Users can separately prevent their messages from appearing across Discoverable Servers. That setting does not disable channel summaries, which administrators control. Discoverable Servers have at least 1,000 members and allow anyone to join without an invite. Private servers and direct messages are excluded; displayed messages will omit usernames and avatars.
