EY expands on-site quantum computing to shape the next frontier of enterprise technology transformation

EY announced an expansion of its global quantum computing capabilities with the addition of an on-site quantum computer led by EY Canada as part of a global investment of more than US$3 billion in AI and next frontier technologies. The initiative strengthens the company's in-house quantum capability and positions EY Canada as a key innovation hub. The investment marks the next chapter of ey.ai The Reimagination Engine and reflects the growing importance of quantum readiness for enterprises. The new capabilities will enable processing of highly sensitive workloads in areas including optimisation, fraud detection, data protection and large-scale risk management. According to EY, the investment provides dedicated access to quantum infrastructure and greater control over application development. The enhanced infrastructure will improve testing, refinement and validation of quantum-enabled solutions, allowing clients to move beyond experimentation. EY is also strengthening its Client Zero approach by developing and testing quantum-enabled solutions within its own environment before deploying them for clients. Raj Sharma, EY Global Managing Partner for Growth and Innovation, said AI may be the defining technology platform of this decade and quantum will ultimately expand its horizons. Biren Agnihotri, EY Canada Chief Technology Officer, said the announcement shifts the conversation on quantum computing from concept to practical use for clients across markets. Joe Depa, EY Global Chief Innovation Officer, said the real power of quantum will be in pairing breakthrough capability with responsible use.
