Google launched a Gemini desktop application for Windows, available globally today for Windows 10 and 11, the company said in a blog post. The app opens over active work with the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut and provides a dedicated workspace for multi-step tasks, including handing work to Gemini Spark, described as a personal AI agent, and pulling information from Gmail and Google Drive. It also generates images with Nano Banana and video with Gemini Omni. Google said more native desktop capabilities will roll out over time.
