Elon Musk Says Optimus Production Will Be 'Extremely Slow' at First

Elon Musk Says Optimus Production Will Be 'Extremely Slow' at First Image: Primary
Elon Musk said Tuesday that initial production of Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot will be extremely slow. In a July 1 reply on X, Musk wrote, "No, Optimus production will be extremely slow at first, as everything is new. This is not like making a car." The comment pushed back against speculation that Tesla is ahead of schedule on production of its Optimus V3 model. The Tesla chief executive noted that the company is building an entirely new manufacturing system for the robot. The statement came amid discussion of a photo Musk posted of the Optimus production team. The Yahoo Finance article reporting the exchange was published one day before July 6.
