DHS records leak exposes workforce details and internal access groups

DHS records leak exposes workforce details and internal access groups Image: Primary
Records covering more than 41,000 Department of Homeland Security employees or contractors were published Wednesday by Distributed Denial of Secrets, WIRED reported. The archive includes work contact details, reporting relationships and permission groups referencing internal systems, undercover operations and surveillance tools. The records were last updated on August 19, 2026. DDoSecrets says they came from DHS's Okta login system; Okta says it has no evidence its own systems or data were compromised. A Recorded Future expert warned that authentic, current records could support impersonation attempts and efforts to compromise investigations.
