SITA has agreed to acquire CAE's Flightscape airline operations software business in a deal valued at US$500 million, Biometric Update reported. More than 90 airlines use Flightscape systems for flight planning, aircraft and crew management, operations control, ground coordination and in-flight services. SITA plans to connect those operational systems with information shared across its airline and airport network. The purchase follows acquisitions that added airport processing, baggage handling and disruption-recovery software. Product integration will proceed in stages after closing, without a detailed integration schedule.
