Ford narrows quarterly EV loss to $1.05 billion and lifts earnings floor

Ford reported that its electric vehicle division lost $1.05 billion in the third quarter, compared with $1.4 billion a year earlier, as the automaker raised the lower end of its full-year adjusted earnings forecast. CFO Sherry House said the company remains on track for its EV business to break even by 2029. Ford now expects full-year adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of $10.5 billion to $11 billion, versus its previous $10 billion to $11 billion range. House warned that commodity, logistics and chip costs would increase, and said Ford is targeting 2027 profitability roughly in line with 2026.
