Anthropic reported to have contributed at least $40 million to midterm political groups

Anthropic has donated at least $40 million during the 2026 election cycle through the dark-money nonprofit Public First Action, according to a report citing campaign-finance data. The report says the nonprofit has raised $100 million and that a linked Public First super PAC has raised another $3.9 million. Anthropic said its nonprofit donations are intended to educate the public about policies, rather than support or oppose specific candidates.
