SickKids discloses employee and applicant data exposure
Image: Primary Toronto pediatric hospital SickKids disclosed a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to personal information belonging to some current and former employees and job applicants.
The hospital attributed the incident to a vulnerability in third-party software and said its public Careers website was temporarily taken offline before being restored. SickKids said clinical systems, patient records and patient care were not affected. It is reviewing the affected data and will notify confirmed individuals directly while offering potentially affected people 24 months of credit monitoring and identity protection.
