Hackers claim 23TB Rosstat data theft; agency denies leak

Rosstat hack attack Image: Primary
Belarusian CyberPartisans and Silent Crow claim to have stolen 23TB of data from Russia's Federal State Statistics Service, including restricted wartime loss records, Tom's Hardware reported. Rosstat acknowledged coordinated cyberattacks between October 29 and 31 but denied the claimed data leak. The groups also claimed they wiped domain controllers, databases, virtualization systems, workstations and VPN infrastructure. Rosstat's website was reportedly defaced and remained inaccessible when the report was written. The hackers said they would release more information after examining the data; their claims about the stolen records and infrastructure destruction remain disputed.
