Dr. Christine Broadbridge Highlights Connecticut's Quantum Future on "Where We Live"
Image: Primary Dr. Christine Broadbridge appeared on Connecticut Public Radio's "Where We Live" to address the state's growing role in the quantum economy. The Feb. 10 program featured her description of Quantum 2.0 moving from theory to application. Broadbridge is a professor of physics and executive director of research and innovation at Southern Connecticut State University. She also founded the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Center for Quantum and Nanotechnology.
Student engagement and research access served as a main theme. Broadbridge said most people believe research requires a Ph.D. She added that the goal is to show people they can participate earlier. Hands-on involvement in new knowledge and technology helps students see themselves contributing to science and technology work, she said.
The appearance preceded Southern's spring semester ribbon-cutting and student research showcase for the renewed center. The center's expanded mission supports Connecticut's leadership in quantum and advanced materials innovation.
