Mercury Research's second-quarter 2026 figures show AMD reached 30.7% of x86 CPU units excluding IoT, SoC and embedded products, up 0.7 points sequentially and 6.5 points year on year. Its client share reached 30.3%, while server CPU share rose to 34.5%; desktop x86 shipments fell more than 20% from a year earlier. Intel remained the volume leader in client and server CPUs despite increasing shipments. Mercury says its broad server calculation includes Intel edge and networking processors, affecting the comparison.
