AWS offers Claude 5.5 models through Bedrock in GovCloud

AWS offers Claude 5.5 models through Bedrock in GovCloud Image: Primary
AWS says Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Sonnet 5.5 are available through Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud (US), supporting AI coding workflows for organizations with regulatory requirements. Both models hold FedRAMP Class D certification on Bedrock and can power Claude Code, which edits files, runs commands and works across code repositories. The bedrock-runtime endpoint operates in both GovCloud regions and supports invocation logging and content guardrails. The bedrock-mantle endpoint provides native Anthropic Messages API access in GovCloud US-West, but lacks those controls. AWS recommends Claude Sonnet 5 for workloads requiring DoD IL4/IL5 authorization, distinguishing that authorization from the newer models' FedRAMP certification.
