Uber and Pony.ai plan London robotaxi tests in coming weeks

Uber and Pony.ai plan London robotaxi tests in coming weeks Image: Primary
Uber and Pony.ai said Thursday they plan to begin testing Pony.ai's Gen-7 robotaxis in London in the coming weeks, TechCrunch reported. The companies intend to launch a robotaxi service there as they expand their European partnership. Their London service will follow a model similar to their Zagreb operation, launched in August: Pony.ai supplies the autonomous driving system and vehicles, Verne owns and operates the fleet, and Uber provides access through its ride-hailing network. The companies have not said who will own and operate the London fleet.
