Nippon Express plans specialized logistics network for India's chip industry

Nippon Express signed a memorandum of understanding with the India Semiconductor Mission to develop specialized logistics for chip manufacturing, including warehouses and supply-chain networks. The company is evaluating locations in Uttar Pradesh and scouting Gujarat, Assam and Odisha. The infrastructure would handle fragile, high-value fabrication equipment that requires protection from vibration and environmental changes. The project remains at the site-evaluation stage, while inadequate port and airport handling and customs delays could obstruct deployment.
