Univé builds an AI-ready workforce

Dutch cooperative insurer Univé said it has built an AI-ready workforce by combining leadership direction, governance safeguards, and employee-led innovation with ChatGPT Enterprise. The company brought its entire management community together for dedicated AI leadership sessions that challenged leaders to rethink how work would change. Governance was designed into the rollout from day one, including enterprise authentication, privacy assessments, and continuous monitoring. Permissions follow underlying enterprise systems to prevent unauthorized access. Employees collectively spend hundreds of hours every week redesigning work with ChatGPT Enterprise, building custom GPTs, and sharing approaches. Approximately 1,500 custom GPTs have been created across business functions including claims, underwriting, finance, HR, legal, IT, customer service, and management. A Workspace Agent for pet insurance claims assembles files, reviews invoices, checks policy conditions, and prepares traceable recommendations in minutes instead of hours. Underwriting agents review incoming queues, combine information from approved sources, and flag risk indicators before underwriters begin their day. Trained professionals remain fully accountable for every final decision.
