Russian authorities arrest three suspected VasyGrek members

Russian authorities arrest three suspected VasyGrek members Image: Primary
Russian authorities say they have arrested three suspected members of VasyGrek and dismantled the group's criminal infrastructure. The Interior Ministry said the suspects were involved in stealing organizational funds and creating, distributing and using malware. Searches of residences and offices led to seizures of computers, communication devices and other evidence. Kaspersky recorded over 100 attempted VasyGrek attacks against organizations in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan between January and September 2026. Targets included metallurgical businesses, industrial suppliers and government agencies. The group uses phishing attachments disguised as financial documents; the arrests concern suspected members, and the allegations remain unproven.
