Artem Aleksandrovych Stryzhak was sentenced to 70 months in prison for participating in ransomware attacks against businesses and critical infrastructure operators, the Justice Department said Tuesday. CyberScoop reported that his attacks included hospitals where patient care was disrupted, government entities and an oil and gas transportation company. Stryzhak pleaded guilty to multiple cybercrimes in late 2025 after his arrest in Spain and extradition to the United States. Authorities said he was an early Hive affiliate and helped deploy its ransomware against seven victims during the COVID-19 pandemic. His alleged co-conspirator Volodymyr Tymoshchuk remains wanted.
