Nvidia reports 104-qubit error-correcting quantum simulation on JUPITER

Nvidia reports 104-qubit error-correcting quantum simulation on JUPITER Image: Primary
Nvidia says it simulated a 104-qubit quantum computer with error correction on Germany's JUPITER supercomputer, including noise that affects real quantum hardware. The test used 8,192 GPUs and ran entirely on conventional computers, rather than a quantum processor. The team tested magic state cultivation, a technique for preparing special quantum states needed for certain calculations. Nvidia says its method uses 90% fewer qubits than earlier approaches. The simulation gives researchers a way to test quantum computer designs before building hardware; earlier work at Jülich simulated 50 qubits under ideal, noise-free conditions.
