A report says the U.S. government designated Italian privacy-services collective Autistici/Inventati as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist on August 26. The collective operates email, website, mailing-list and blog services, including Noblogs.org; the report says the State Department described its platform as hosting roughly 16,000 mailboxes, 1,500 websites, 5,500 mailing lists and 10,000 blogs. It says Treasury rules will prohibit transactions with the collective beginning September 25. Autistici/Inventati denied the allegations.
