Pew found strong signs of AI authorship on about 10% of a random sample of web pages in July 2026, according to a report on its analysis. The report says the share exceeded one-third for pages published since ChatGPT's November 2022 release. Pew classified nearly 500,000 English-language Common Crawl pages with the Open Pangram detector, while cautioning that detectors can misclassify individual documents.
