Readwise opens invite-only Books beta with a U.S. ebook store

Readwise opens invite-only Books beta with a U.S. ebook store Image: Primary
Readwise has introduced Readwise Books, an app combining book purchasing, reading and tracking, TechCrunch reports. Its store initially offers U.S. readers millions of ebooks from the big five publishers and others, alongside print books and some audiobooks. The beta requires an invitation unless the user already subscribes to Readwise. Readers can upload EPUB files without copy protection, track Kindle reading through its browser-based reader and photograph physical books to record progress. A public API and an MCP server let external software and AI agents use Readwise data. The app is free, with some AI features later moving behind a paywall; only Harper Collins has so far permitted its AI features.
