Veritas says new authentication chip works on metal and through glass

Veritas says new authentication chip works on metal and through glass Image: Primary
Veritas has introduced a second version of its product-authentication chip that works on metal surfaces and can be scanned through glass, founder Luci Holland told TechCrunch. She said the chip is ready for production, extending its use from garments to jewelry, trophies and fragrance bottles. The chip generates an authenticated response with each tap and includes a wire to detect tampering. Veritas also announced a partnership this week to embed chips in all 18 championship crowns for ATHLOS, a women's track-and-field competition founded by Veritas investor Alexis Ohanian.
