OpenAI employees raised repeated internal security warnings

OpenAI employees raised repeated internal security warnings Image: Primary
OpenAI employees repeatedly warned leadership and the board about security weaknesses over several years, including before ChatGPT launched, Reuters reported, citing five people familiar with the matter. Sources described broad access to code in a shared repository; three also alleged inconsistent vulnerability testing of modified research environments. OpenAI disputed parts of the account, saying its most sensitive work is in restricted repositories and its shared repository excludes model weights. It said internal tools now receive regular security checks. After Reuters sought comment, OpenAI published plans on Monday for another effort to address security gaps.
