ChatGPT Dots preview adds texting through Google Messages and iMessage

OpenAI announced on October 28 that US ChatGPT Pro subscribers can text ChatGPT Dots through Google Messages and Apple iMessage in a preview, Analytics Insight reported. Users can assign tasks, send photos and voice messages, and receive automatic updates without opening ChatGPT. OpenAI says conversation context and connected plugins carry across channels. Activation requires phone-number verification and saving the Dot's contact, plus RCS on Android or iMessage on iPhone. Each Dot can exchange messages only with its assigned user; enabling texting does not grant access to other text conversations. Linq handles the messages.
