QUANTRO receives Austrian grant to develop AI drug discovery platform Image: Primary
QUANTRO Therapeutics said it received a 12-month, non-dilutive research grant from Austria's Research Promotion Agency to develop ASCEND, an AI platform for discovering drugs that target transcription factors, proteins that regulate gene expression. The platform will combine the company's data on gene activity over time with molecular modelling and internal AI tools to identify and improve drug candidates. QUANTRO plans to operate ASCEND primarily on local physical infrastructure in Vienna, reducing reliance on providers outside Europe. Its initial application is oncology; expansion into other disease areas depends on generating or acquiring relevant biological data.
