Tesla's 2026 Summer Update: auto navigation, Grok phone calls, Caraoke scoring, and more

Tesla's 2026 Summer Update: auto navigation, Grok phone calls, Caraoke scoring, and more Image: Primary
Tesla began rolling out its 2026 Summer Update on Monday and published the full release notes on X, the company said. The update expands the Grok voice assistant so it can make phone calls, search and play music, adjust climate controls and open the glovebox in addition to its existing navigation commands. Caraoke now scores singing performances while the vehicle is in Park and saves high scores to the driver profile. Automatic Navigation learns recurring stops such as a school drop-off or gym visit and suggests routes before the driver enters a destination, while Preferred Routes prioritizes roads the driver has used previously. Owners can now set desired arrival energy and upload custom vehicle wraps from the mobile app, and a rear display lock lets front-row occupants control content on the rear screen. The release also adds the ability to find Superchargers by name, queue Apple Music songs from search, set a preferred zoom level for the Self-Driving visualization and enables camera and microphone support in the browser. Tesla said the update is rolling out in waves and may take a few weeks to reach every vehicle.
