AWS adds Linux and Windows 11 desktops for AI agents

Amazon says WorkSpaces for AI agents now supports Linux and Windows 11 cloud desktops alongside Windows Server, allowing agents to use operating systems required by existing enterprise applications and workflows. Linux desktops give agents full root access for developer tasks such as running builds, tests and scripts. Windows 11 desktops let agents work in enterprise applications used by employees. Both additions retain the security and governance controls available on Windows Server desktops, including network isolation, access managed through IAM and existing organizational compliance boundaries.
